We are proud to announce that the research team led by Prof. Tsung-Yu Hou of our program participated in the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI 2026)—one of the most prestigious international conferences in HCI—held in Barcelona, Spain, from April 13 to 17, 2026.
The team presented multiple research results, including 1 full paper, 3 posters, and 3 workshop papers. Their work covered topics such as human-AI delegation, psychological attribution, social polarization, emotional support, language model governance, and metacognitive design in human-computer collaboration.
The full paper, "AI as the Phantom Limb: The Asymmetry of Attribution in Human vs. AI Delegation," examines the asymmetry of attribution when users delegate tasks to AI—finding that users tend to internalize negative outcomes but not positive ones, offering important insights into human-AI relationships and accountability.
During the conference, the team also engaged in academic exchange with Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Spain, strengthening international academic ties.
